Baltimore, MD – The registration period for Baltimore City’s YouthWorks summer jobs program begins today for Baltimore City residents, ages 14-24. In order to be considered for a six-week summer job, interested youth and young adults must complete the YouthWorks registration form, which may be downloaded at www.oedworks.com, and bring it along with several required documents listed below to one of six recreation center registration locations before the March 12, 2010 deadline. Registrations will be conducted from 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The centers will be closed and registrations will not be conducted on January 15, January 18 and February 15, 2010. The registration locations are: Walter P. In addition to the option to download, registration forms may also be obtained from the following Mayor’s Office of Employment Development locations. However, the registrations will only be conducted at the recreation centers listed above. Baltimore Works One-Stop Career Center Workforce Reception Center Eastside Career Center YO! Community Center—West YO! Community Center—East The majority of the placements will be made for those 14 to 21 years of age; however, a small number of 22 to 24-year-olds may register to become Team Leaders to help assist with the operation of the YouthWorks Green Jobs Corps – an initiative conducted in coordination with the Department of Recreation and Parks. |
