New Horseshoe Baltimore Recruitment Coordinator Named Position will promote availability of casino jobs among city residents and assist with application process.

BALTIMORE, Md. (August 14, 2013)—Today, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and CBAC Gaming, LLC, the owner and operator of the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, announced that Kanika Feaster has been hired as the Horseshoe Baltimore recruitment coordinator. Feaster, who assumed the new role on August 7, 2013, will help identify qualified city residents to apply for the 1,700 positions that will be created by the $442 million downtown gaming facility. The position, which is full-time with benefits, was established as part of a memorandum of understanding—approved by the Board of Estimates on December 12, 2012— between the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) and CBAC Gaming. Funded by CBAC, the position will leverage MOED’s full range of employment readiness and job seeker services. Feaster, a Baltimore City resident, most recently served as program manager for LIFE, Inc., where her many Baltimore-based responsibilities included job recruitment, training, and supervision, staff management, and client recruitment. She also oversaw site supervision, budgeting, and strategic planning for a program that is a partner to the Maryland Department of Education and the state’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Feaster has also served in relevant capacities for Digit All Systems and Educate Online, both in Baltimore. She is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia.
